Fraction Fantasy

Write a story using fractions. Must be at least 5 sentences. Here is an example...you may NOT use these in your story...

*** Miss Phifer was hungry. She decided to order a large pepperoni pizza. When she got the pizza, she ate one half (1/2) of the pizza immediately. After that she was full. She saved the other half (1/2) of the pizza for tomorrow. ***

You can talk about food, toys, games, or anything else. You don't don't have to use halves (1/2). you can use thirds (1/3). fourths (1/4), sixths (1/6), eighths (1/8), or any other fractions.

Supreme Similies !!!

We have been talking about similies...write me a simile that you create on your own. You can choose your topic, but the similie MUST make sense!

Examples:

Miss Phifer is as loveable as a new born pup!

Mrs. Sinder is like a Queen in the classroom!

Escriba con colores! (Write with Colors!)

This week we are learning about other languages. Use your new Spanish Color words to describe what you are wearing (shirt, sweater, pants, dress, shoes, socks, hairbows, ect.) OR descriobe your favorite outfit. Use your color sheet and spell the Spanish words correctly!

Shifty Shapes

Choose an enviornment..you can use the computer lab, your bedroom, the yard where you live, or anywhere else that you're familiar with. PLEASE write in complete sentences.

• Name at least 3 items in the enviornment and their shapes (ex. basketball is a sphere)



• Put your (first name only) NAME at the bottom of your post (ex. Winnie)

Out West

We have been talking a lot over the last few days about the Old West with "Yippee Yay!" and "Cowboy Kate and Cocoa". Pretend you are an Old West Cowboy or Cowgirl. What is the hardest part of your life? What is the best part of your life? Are you happy being a Cowboy/Cowgirl? Why or why not?

Planet X

We've been talking about the Solar System. We've also talked a little about Planet X. Pretend you are an astronomer and you are studying Planet X. Tell me what you think Planet X is like...What does it look like? How big or small is it? What is it's surface like? Does it have rings? What about it's atmosphere? Include any other details you can imagine. DON'T GET CRAZY. Use the information you already have learned about other planets to make educated guesses.

Modern Comforts

In the stories Boom Town and Leah's Pony, the events in the story take place in the past. Pretend that you live in the time of Boom Town. What modern (today's) inventions would you miss? If you had a time machine, what ONE invention would you bring from today?
